Firebird Theatre presents a brand new workshop: STAGECRAFT!
PERFECT FOR THE NON-ACTOR WHO WANTS TO LEARN EVERYTHING THERE IS TO KNOW ABOUT WHAT GOES ON BEHIND THE SCENES OF A THEATRE PRODUCTION.
In this brand new, never offered before 2 week workshop, our Firebird Stagecraft students will learn the basics of all technical aspects of theatre. Once finished, the members will be able to work effectively and confidently on nearly any school or amateur theatrical production.
YOU WILL LEARN: ● Lighting and sound design: Learn the basics of lighting design including the programming of the light board. Also, learn the basic of sound design including live and recorded effects ● Electrics: Learn the basic skills needed to hang, focus, and troubleshoot lighting and sound equipment. ● Mechanics/ Rigging: Learn and understand the design, operation, and function of flying scenery, mechanised scenic elements, and special effects. ● Scenic design and basic carpentry: Learn the basics of scenic design and construction, including: scenic painting, theater drapes and stage curtains, and special effects. ● Stage automation: the use and control of moving scenery, lighting, sound or other elements without human interaction
You will learn these skills while working on the current Firebird shows, with with hands on lessons and projects taught by our instructors:

Location: Phoenixville Area Middle School Stage Instructor: Brandon Carcella and Firebird Theatre Technical Staff
Dates: 2 Two Week Sessions:
Session 1: June 17 - June 28 Monday - Friday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
Session 2: July 1 - July 12* Monday - Friday from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm *CLOSED JULY 4TH
Ages: 12-18 Tuition: $275 per 2 week session
Students enrolled in our Stagecraft course will receive a tool kit containing:
Firebird Theatre T Shirt
Safety glasses
Mechanics gloves
pencil
notebook
tape measure
8” adjustable C wrench
On the first day, Stagecraft students should bring their own toolbox or tool bag labeled with their name to store tools.
Daily: students should bring a refillable water bottle and pack a lunch.
Stagecraft students should wear sneakers or closed toe shoes. NO FLIP FLOPS OR SANDALS WILL BE PERMITTED DURING CLASS.
STAGECRAFT STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE A VIP TICKET PASS TO ATTEND ALL OF OUR FIREBIRD THEATRE SUMMER WORKSHOP PERFORMANCES!
