Please note that all Firebird Theatre staff & volunteers must provide a copy of their current PA Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse Clearance , FBI Fingerprint, at least 30 days prior to the start of the workshop/play you're volunteering or applying for an internship in order to participate in our program. Current means within 5 years but no earlier than August of 2017. If your affiliation with our organization has lapsed for more than one year, you must re-apply for all new clearances.
Please note: If you are interning, volunteering or directing in a Methacton School District location, you are also required to get a TB Test certification. This is available for free through the school district's HS nurse in the Fall of 2024. Please make arrangements with them if applying for Summer 2025 programs.
Recent legislation impacts the frequency with which contractors and volunteers are required to submit updated clearances. Below are the three required clearances, along with links to apply for them online. The State of PA Dept. of Educ. now requires them to be updated every five (5) years from the date of issue.
There is a new company facilitating fingerprinting for the PA Dept. of Education called IdentoGO register and set up appointment online at:https://uenroll.identogo.com/ You will be asked for a Service Code: 1KG6XN follow the directions online to complete the registration process and print your receipt. You will need to take that receipt to get your fingerprints scanned. This same receipt is what you will turn in for our access to the official report.
It takes a few weeks for the paperwork to come by mail from Harrisburg, so don't delay!
Please keep all originals, we just need a copy.

• Tuberculosis (TB) test results – MSD is no longer providing this service for Summer 2024 employment. Please contact your physician or local pharmacy.
Contact Methacton School Nursing Coordinator Kathy Thompson at 610-489- 5000, ext. 25063 or send an email to [email protected] to make an appointment to obtain a TB screening. Testing appointments are available for Monday, Wednesday with re-checks (48 hours later) on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. You may have the TB test done by a school nurse for free, or by your family physician or local clinic at your own cost.
Clearances for Volunteers: • High school students who are VOLUNTEERING in your camps must complete the District’s Community Ed Affirmation form. • Individuals who are 18 years of age or older and VOLUNTEERING must provide: o PA Criminal Background Check for Volunteers Only; o PA Child Abuse Clearance Certificate for Volunteers Only; o Tuberculosis (TB) test results. • If volunteer has not lived in Pennsylvania for a minimum of 10 consecutive years, they will also need to supply an FBI with Fingerprints Report through IdentoGO®.
